About Me

Dr. Halsey, a nine-year resident of York County, is excited to finally be working near her home!  Before opening Lakeshore Dental, she worked for many years as a dentist in Mecklenburg County.   Her husband Joe attended UNC-Charlotte and has lived on Lake Wylie for more than 25 years.  Dr. Halsey  grew up in Alleghany County located in the mountains of North Carolina.

After receiving her first degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, she worked in the cosmetics industry for Giorgio–Beverly Hills, Estée Lauder Companies, and Belk.  While living in Greensboro, she decided to return to school to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. She attended North Carolina

A & T State University for her pre-dental education courses. While at A & T, she was a Dean’s List student all semesters and founded the University’s First Pre-Dental /Pre-Med Education Club.

Once again, this devout Tar Heel fan found herself in Chapel Hill attending one of the country’s most prestigious dental schools. While at UNC, she was a Dean’s List student and served on the admission’s committee as a student interviewer.  Dr. Halsey was very active in Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity where she was elected President and received their Zane Eargle Award and Kermit Knudtzon Award.

She also enjoys giving back to her community.  She has participated in the Mission of Mercy (MOM) dental clinic in Charlotte, NC and Sparta, NC, her hometown.  In addition, she participated in Dental Access Day (DAD) in Rock Hill and the Baptist Men’s Mobile Dental Bus in Monroe, NC.

Interests

She continues to focus on post-graduate education by attending numerous continuing education courses focusing on comprehensive cosmetic, reconstructive, and preventive dentistry.  She most recently completed courses with Clinical Mastery Series.

Dr. Halsey lives with her husband Joe on Lake Wylie where they enjoy spending summers on their boat and wake surfing with family and friends. She loves SCUBA diving, and in fact, is a PADI-certified underwater digital photographer.  Her other interests include travel and painting.

About Me

Dr. Helton was raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She attended the University of South Carolina followed by the University of Kentucky where she pursued two separate B.S. degrees in Psychology and Biology. From there, she fulfilled her childhood goal of earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

After completing her doctorate, Dr. Helton and her family moved back to the Carolinas. She is an active member of the SCDA, NCDA, and ADA. She understands that dentistry is an ever changing and growing field, and that continuing education is an essential part of being able to provide the highest quality of care to her patients. As such, she is dedicated to life-long learning to discover the most superior dental materials, technologies, and procedures to provide her patients with their very best dental outcomes.

About Me

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry in 1993, Dr. Woolston joined the US Navy after dental school as a Naval Dental Officer and served for three years with the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune.

He continued as a reservist for the next 23 years and retired with the rank of Captain. Dr. Woolston became a member of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1993 and then became a Fellow in the Academy in 2006.

He is married to his beautiful bride Susan and has three children and a French Bulldog named Abby.

About Me

Dr. Edelmann has had a passion for Orthodontics for as long as he can remember. As a patient he appreciated how grateful he was to be treated by an Orthodontist and decided early in life to dedicate his life to providing that same experience for others.

Born in San Diego, he spent most of his life in Southwest Florida. He attended Marshall University through the prestigious Yeager Scholar program and earned a degree in Accounting (Summa Cum Laude). During his undergrad tenure he spent time studying at Oxford University and completing dental research in Africa.
