Dr. Brenda L. Halsey, DDS, a nine-year resident of York County, is excited to finally be working near her home! Before opening Lakeshore Dental, she worked for many years as a dentist in Mecklenburg County. Her husband Joe attended UNC-Charlotte and has lived on Lake Wylie for more than 25 years. Dr. Brenda L. grew up in Alleghany County located in the mountains of North Carolina.
After receiving her first degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, she worked in the cosmetics industry for Giorgio–Beverly Hills, Estée Lauder Companies, and Belk. While living in Greensboro, she decided to return to school to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist. She attended North Carolina
A & T State University for her pre-dental education courses. While at A & T, she was a Dean’s List student all semesters and founded the University’s First Pre-Dental /Pre-Med Education Club.
Once again, this devout Tar Heel fan found herself in Chapel Hill attending one of the country’s most prestigious dental schools. While at UNC, she was a Dean’s List student and served on the admission’s committee as a student interviewer. Dr. Brenda L. Halsey, DDS was very active in Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity where she was elected President and received their Zane Eargle Award and Kermit Knudtzon Award.
She also enjoys giving back to her community. She has participated in the Mission of Mercy (MOM) dental clinic in Charlotte, NC and Sparta, NC, her hometown. In addition, she participated in Dental Access Day (DAD) in Rock Hill and the Baptist Men’s Mobile Dental Bus in Monroe, NC.
